The Sunset Strip... well, first off, this place was the center of the L.A. Hair/Sleaze Metal genre. Many of
the U.S. glam-bands had their beginning here, at either the Whiskey A Go-Go, The Viper Room (used to be the London Fog) or
the
Troubadour. All of these clubs helped bands such as The Yardbird (soon to be Led Zeppelin), L.A. Guns, Guns N' Roses,
Whitesnake, Posion and many, many more get to the top of fame.
Not only were there the best club gigs in the world, but the home of the record companies that supported them. Geffen
Records is based here, along with the original Tower Records and the original Virgin Megastore. The street is lined with very
bright and colorful advertisements, and at night, neon lights the streets.
There would be no Rock and Roll if there was no Sunset Strip.
